I’ve been creating homemade cleaners for a little while, testing out which ones really work well and I’ve come up with a list of my favorites. These cleaners I use on a fairly regular basis to keep my home clean and I love them because they work, they’re natural and inexpensive. These are my Top 5 DIY Cleaners in no particular order.
- All Natural Wood Polish
After using this first on my cutting board and seeing the results, this quickly became my favorite way to clean and polish wood furniture. I love the way it picks up dirt then conditions the wood to really make it look beautiful. - Homemade Laundry Detergent Tablets
These are by far my favorite thing I’ve made, they make laundry a breeze plus, I can see exactly how many loads I have left. The Fels Naptha bar leaves a clean lemony scent on the clothes, which I missed while using the commercial detergent. I love how clean it gets my clothes and how white my whites stay. The best part? This laundry detergent works great in my front loading washer. - Citrus Infused Vinegar
I use this infused vinegar on everything. This is my go to all purpose cleaner from the kitchen to the bathroom. The vinegar cleans, disinfects and deodorizes the area I’m working in all with one spray. How many other cleaners do that? None that I can think of. - Homemade Grout Cleaner
My tile stays nice, white, bright and clean with this homemade grout cleaner; it easily removes nasty mildew and soap scum like nobody’s business. The hydrogen peroxide helps to inhibit the growth of mold so I never have to worry about having extra gross tile. - Homemade Soft Scrub
I neglect my oven usually so when it turns into a baked on grease monster I use this soft scrub in place of oven cleaner and still get the same great results minus the harsh chemical. For any tough grease job I have, I put my soft scrub to work and I’m left with little to no scrubbing. This soft scrub takes the bite out of grime.
These homemade cleaners have changed the way I clean; I do not have to scrub as much or spend as much time cleaning because that’s how well they work.
Happy Cleaning!

Thanks Kelsey! I really like the citrus vinegar when I go on cleaning sprees. I’d rather smell like citrus than pickles. :)
